John Nicholson is a physician with extensive experience in healthcare and wellness investments. He has been a consultant to large hedge funds such as Tiger Management and Steinhardt Partners, and was the managing partner of Sands Point partners, a healthcare and wellness hedge fund, from 1994-2006. He has been an advisor to European asset management companies and a partner at Bank Street, an investment banking firm.
He is the Managing Partner of the TSC Accelerant fund, a venture philanthropy fund focused on diagnostics, biomarkers, and therapies for Tuberous Sclerosis, a lynchpin genetic mutation disease that has broad potential applications in epilepsy, Alzheimer’s and cancer.
John is a board certified cardiologist and a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at Weill Cornell. He received an MD from the University of Cincinnati and a MBA from the Stern School at New York University. His undergraduate degree was from Brown University.
