A seasoned C-level executive and investor with over two decades of private equity, investment banking, and asset management experience in leading private, public and government institutions.
Sami is an Executive Director in Neom’s Investment Office (NIO) leading strategic partnerships and investments into Neom’s regions. Overseeing NEOM’s array of investment channels, Sami leads on engaging strategic financial partnerships that secure high levels of funding for the giga-project. His most recent achievement is being part of NIO’s leadership team that led the successful establishment of a groundbreaking $10 billion logistics joint venture between NEOM and DSV.
Prior to joining NEOM, Sami held several senior roles within the investment industry, recently serving as Chief Executive Officer of Capital Investments, a regional investment bank with offices in Dubai and Amman. Sami spearheaded the strengthening of the bank’s position and profitability to compete at the forefront of companies that provide similar services in the MENA market and managed to grow the assets under management by more than 240% during his tenor.
Sami was also an executive at Dubai-based Amanat Holdings PJSC, the region’s largest integrated healthcare and education company with a capital of AED 2.5 billion. Prior to that, he was an Executive Director in Private Equity at Qatar First Bank (QFB) where he managed a leading private equity team and executed QAR 2 billion worth of private equity deals.
Sami has a solid history of board of directors’ experience in several listed, private, government and non-profit regional organizations in the sectors of banking, manufacturing, catering, retail, education, investment, real estate, and insurance.
Sami holds a bachelor’s degree in finance and accounting from McGill University in Canada. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and a member of CFA Institute. Sami is the founding member and the past President of both CFA Society Qatar and CFA Jordan.
