Tom has 30 years of investment and Wall Street experience combined with hands-on entrepreneurial and operating experience in the energy and healthcare sectors.
Mr. Ward was a Director of Institutional Equity Sales /Global Equity Coordinator at Merrill Lynch and a Senior Managing Director at Bear Stearns. He also was a partner at Palantir Capital and Argonaut Capital—two multi-billion-dollar hedge funds.
He is president of Geo Energy Corporation, a family-owned Texas-based oil and gas firm. He also was a Managing Director and Head of Sales and Trading at Tudor, Pickering and Holt energy investment bank in Houston. He grew up in Midland, Texas.
In the health care field, in addition to investing in the public markets, Mr. Ward was NYC Clinic Director and Senior Business Advisor for Amen Clinics for four years. The firm is a global leader in brain health and brain imaging. Mr. Ward published as co-lead author a paper addressing the use of brain scans and deep learning to improve brain diagnoses and mental health treatment outcomes. Further, Mr. Ward consulted with TALON, a company leading the way in creating price transparency that is disrupting the U.S. healthcare service industry.
In 1996, he was honored as Principal for A Day of the NYC Public School System for his ongoing work, primarily with Stuyvesant High School. He was a Trustee of the Boys Club of New York for 10 years. He also served on the investment committee and the advisory board of the University of North Carolina Business School and was an Elder at Brick Presbyterian Church in NYC.
Mr. Ward has an MBA with honors from the University of Texas Graduate School of Business and received an undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he was a Morehead Scholar.
Mr. Ward lives with his wife Natalie in New York City.
